McLaren is recalling its GT model due to an airbag fault.

The issue affects 29 GTs made between 2019 and 2021.

According to the Department for Infrastructure, which issued the notice, the connection to the driver airbag may not meet manufacturing specifications, and as a result may not deploy as intended.

In an accident this could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.

A list of VINs can be found here.

Owners of affected vehicles can contact their preferred authorised McLaren Dealer – of which there are only four in Australia: in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and the Gold Coast – to make an appointment to have the work carried out free of charge.

Details of where each dealership is located is available here.

Alternatively McLaren can be contacted on a UK number +44 (0) 1483 357900, or via email at client.services@mclaren.com
