- First examples set to land in quarter four of 2021
The updated 2022 Porsche Macan has been officially revealed, with Stuttgart's smallest SUV offering packing a bigger punch across the range.
Now down to a three-variant line-up after the departure of the top-level Turbo trim, the Macan has undergone a range of aesthetic, equipment and mechanical tweaks in preparation for its 2022 debut.
Hitting local shores before the end of 2021, the updated model will be looking to prop up sales after the Macan suffered a June slump, selling just 186 units compared to 304 in June 2020, though year-to-date sales are still tracking ahead of 12 months ago – 1422 in 2021 against 1195 in 2020.

Engines and drivetrain
As you would expect, the most inexpensive Macan receives the lowest-powered engine of the three variants, a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo which now produces 195kW and 400Nm, up from the 185kW/370Nm in the outgoing model.
Stepping it up a notch, the Macan S is now powered by a 2.9-litre V6 bi-turbo which punches out 280kW and 519Nm, an increase of 20kW/39Nm over the 3.0-litre single turbo V6 found in the current Macan.
The top-of-the-range GTS scores a much hotter version of the S's 2.9-litre V6, now making 324kW and 549Nm, the same figures as the now-dropped Turbo and a 44kW/40Nm jump over the previous GTS.
All engines are mated to Porsche's PDK seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, sending power to all four wheels.
Warranty
All Porsche models are covered by a three-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty in Australia which includes 24/7 roadside assistance, renewed when the vehicle is serviced at a Porsche Centre.
Porsche also offers warranty extensions every 12 to 24 months for up to 14 years/200,000km, transferrable through private sales.
