It’s that time of year when everyone is out shopping for stocking-fillers, but here in the Street Machine offices we’re more interested in driveway fillers.

The Grays weekly classic car auction is the perfect place to find that next dream machine, so we’ve gone through and cherry-picked a bunch of our favourites hitting the block this week.

Bidding is live now, and closes on Tuesday 13 December from 8pm AEDT. You can check out all the listings at this link here.

One of the first cars to catch our eye is this minty VN SS, an untouched time warp still rocking all the original gear and, joy of joys, the five-speed manual!

Finished in Atlas Grey, it should tick all the boxes for any VN fan, and the best bit of all is that it’s up for auction with no reserve.

Another plastic-bumpered hottie up for grabs is this 2003 BA FPV GT. Not only is it the crème de la crème GT, but this one is hiding a Yella Terra blower atop the Boss 290 V8 for some added shove.

Showing 114,000 kilometres, the build number 0173 would be a neat addition to anyone’s stable.

Another blown machine with a heap more presence is this TBS 6/71 blower that’s wearing a 1965 Ford Mustang.

Underneath that blower sits a 347ci crate motor with a hot cam, alloy heads and roller rockers. The rest of the driveline includes the stock Muzzy rear end and a C4 auto ‘box, and with its red finish it makes for a pretty wild street machine.

We’re not done with Mustangs just yet. This one may just look like your average rolling shell, but she has all the right tags, being a 1969 Mustang Boss 429 fastback Z-code.

If you’re not up with Ford gibberish, that basically means it's one of 850 1969 Boss 429 Mustangs fiddled with by Ford's special vehicle division, as part of their homologation program for NASCAR. Basically think of it as the Yanks' GTHO for '69 Mustangs.

Obviously this one is mid-resto, but the good news is that all the hard work has already been done, with the shell structurally sound and ready for paint and assembly. Another 1969 Z-Code Mustang sold through Grays for over AU$220K around two years ago, so this one could definitely be a worthwhile investment.

We’ve got a rare Holden for you as well if that’s your side of the fence; a genuine 1973 LC GTR XU-1.

It’s an original Tangerine Orange car with chestnut trim, which stands out nicely from all the clones out there with black interiors. There are a few more LCs and Js in this auction, but this is the only one with no reserve so it’s our pick of the three.

Another untouched gem is this 1972 Holden Monaro LS coupe, claiming just three owners and a touch over 88,000 kilometres.

Not only is it in properly nice condition, but was optioned with air con and power steer! Combine that with the thongslapper power and you’ve got yourself an awesome summer cruiser.

Our final pick from this week’s crop is this neat XB ute, rocking 351 power, striking 70s-appropriate orange paint and four manually-selectable cogs.

By all accounts it looks to be a ready-to-rip cruiser, and we can already see ourselves backed down to our favourite watering hole in summer with the tailgate down, esky in the back and beer in hand.
