The first Commodore was the VB, released in 1978, winning the Wheels Car of the Year award.
Aside from the final, fully-imported ZB model, the answer is a definitive no! While the VB-VZ models were indeed based on Opel platforms, each had signifcant amounts of local engineering. You can read about this in detail here
The ZB Holden Commodore was discontinued in early 2020, as was the brand itself
