SUVs under $25k
SUV options are vast for almost every price point, though there are slimmer pickings for those seeking a brand new SUV for less than $25,000 (before on-road charges).
You can find the likes of Hyundai, Kia and Mazda here, though in each case the choice of Hyundai Venue, Kia Stonic or Mazda CX-3 is restricted to base models with manual gearboxes.
Buyers need to go above a $25,000 budget if they want an automatic gearbox or a model featuring all-wheel drive rather than front-wheel drive. A Suzuki Ignis is available with an auto in this pricing category, however, as is the MG ZS that plays strongly on value.
SUVs priced below $25,000 are naturally small in size. In the case of the Hyundai Venue, Kia Stonic or Mazda CX-3, these models are based on the companies’ city cars.
Here’s a list of the main options in this segment:
Model | Version | Price From* |
---|---|---|
Hyundai Venue | 1.6MPi | $21,740 |
Kia Stonic | S | $21,990 |
Mazda CX-3 | Neo Sport | $23,390 |
MG ZS | 1.5 Excite Auto | $21,990 |
Suzuki Ignis | 1.2 GL | $20,490 |
